GDP per capita

      $16,736 (2011 according to the International Monetary Fund). This is relatively low, comparing to US's GDP per capita of $48,328.

Unemployment Rate

     5.4% in July of 2012. This is tied to a record low for the country. A record high was 14.6 in 1999. To understand their unemployment rate conditions, United States unemployment is currently 7.8%, so they have better employment.

Russian Ruble to US Dollar

     Currently, 1 US dollar is equal to about 31 Russian rubles. This means that the GDP per capita of Russia in rubles is 521,610 rubles. This means that the value of a ruble is very low compared to a dollar.

Literacy Rate

     99.56% according to world bank. This is good for the country that most everyone is educated.

Inflation Rate

     Russia recently hit a record inflation rate of 6.0% in September. This is not good for Russia's economy, as prices will go up causing exports to go down.

Current Type of Government and Past Government Structures

     Russia uses a presidential republic. This is similar to United States government. They have previously used an absolute monarchy and communism.
